N Taylor Collins has been a professional artist since 1987.   She began with a folk art style which captured the lively scenes of Delaware.   Her mentor and inspiration was Jack Lewis as he wrote books that featured paintings and stories to go along with the scene.   She studied with him for about twelve years as well as others she admired including Lois Griffel, Tony Couch, H. Earl Abbott, and George Bochius.

To date she has 30 limited edition prints that depict scenes like The Sale at Spence's Bazaar, Old Dover Days festival, Dolle's at Rehoboth, Dover Air Force Base gate, and Dover's 300th Anniversary.   Her style has evoled over the years and she currently calls it an impressionist folk art style.   She paints plein air as often as possible with a group she helped form in 2011, The Plein Air Painters of the MidAtlantic.

She has exhibited in many group and solo shows over the years.   Her work is collected by local and state governments, corporate, and individual collectors.   She is in the personal collection of Col and Mrs. Randy Boswell, Delaware Rep. Sean Lynn, Wesley President and Mrs. Robert Clark, Governor and Mrs. Markell, and notable others.   She is currently one of the twelve Delaware artists selected bi-annually to hang in US Senator Thomas Carper's Office.

She is in Parke Green Galleries in Dover where she also maintains a public studio.   She is a past National President of the National League of American Pen Women in DC.   She has served on various boards over the years including the Dover Art League, the Greater Dover Arts Council, and the Community Advisory Board for WDDE 91.1 our local NPR station.   She has been featured on radio and TV and is actively involved in promoting the arts.   Taylor also maintains an online shop on etsy.   She is a writer as well and is working on a short memoir of her time studying with Jack Lewis.
