History Book Festival

Lewes, DE

visiting

The History Book Festival is the first and only book festival in the United States devoted exclusively to history. Led by a volunteer board and funded in part by grants from Delaware Humanities and Sussex County Council, as well as tax-deductible contributions through the Greater Lewes Foundation, the Festival's organizers believe in the power of history, literature and civil dialogue to influence the future for the better. The Festival presents authors of historical fiction and nonfiction in Lewes on the last weekend of September each year and also hosts stand-alone events with authors during the year, often in conjunction with community partners such as the Lewes Public Library, the Rehoboth Beach Film Society, the Fort Miles Historical Association, and Dogfish Head Brewery.
